according to wikipedias definition (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/hate_group), a hate group is an organized group or movement whose primary purpose is to promote animosity, hatred, hostility or violence toward members of a race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, etc.... the southern poverty law center explains that inclusion of a group in the list does not imply a group advocates or engages in violence or other criminal activity.. under the category of religious hate groups, westboro baptist church was cited for promoting hatred toward homosexuals.

creativity movement and aryan nation were mentioned as promoting racial hatred.. is it a stretch to categorize the watchtowers rhetoric toward apostates as that of a hate group?

keeping in mind that promoting or engaging in violence is not required to be identified as a hate group, does the constant degradation of other religious philosophies, organizations and adherents constitute hate speech?

i went to the last day of the dc here in west palm beach, just to make my mother company.

wow, what a difference can a year outside the lie can do to perception.

it was the same crap as you'd expect but there is a plot twist: the speaker was so into the talk he was actually starting to shout and wound up mentioning that they now know how many angels will be needed to destroy everyone at armaggeddon.

I can't help but consider the processing power of my computer vs. the processing demands I place on it at any given moment.

What if there had been 360,000 Assyrians? Or 720,000? Could one angel have taken care of it? What does that do to Brother Insightful's calculations? These ardent students of the bible really cannot think one step ahead of their desire to dispense profound wisdom, can they?

I've always been a huge fan of NASA and the shuttle program, space station, rover projects, just about anything they put their hand to. However, these days I question the financial responsibility of such ventures.

I remain mesmerized, but not surprised by yet another NASA triumph. Those people really know what they're doing.

- They know more about the lawsuits, low baptisms, youth retention rate, apostate uprising, etc… than we do.

- I think many of them really believe they are God’s one true organization and they view these events as prophesy-fulfilling.

- I think they foresee their own impending demise.

They are taking all the guess work out of the state of their stability. Every desperate move they make is a telling gauge of how close their own, isolated, corporate implosion really is.

All we have to do is Listen, Observe and Be Amused.

This kinda fits in with this thread. When I was in highschool I really got into classical music. (pianist) My mother told me not to bring any of it in the house and warned me away from even listening to it because all those composers were homosexuals and that music will only lead you to that lifestyle.

A few rated - R movies were okay to slip in once in awhile, but LORDY!... don't let that homuh-sekchul music in the house.

it sounds like he had a larger audience that likely included his apostles.so, who is "this fold" he was referring to and who are the "other sheep"?according to wts doctrine, the heavenly calling (covenant) had not been instituted yet.

we don't hear about that until the last supper.

GOrwell, thanks for that scipture qoute. I don't remember ever reading that even though I have been through the bible, Ephesians in particular, a few times.

This has been such a learning experience for me since I started reading the bible (and this forum) and my brain was actually hearing the words. Before, the WTS already told me what I believed, so reading the bible was just a formality. I could let my eyes glaze over and spittle run off my chin as I absorbed, like osmosis, confirmation that the WTS was right.

There. I did my bible reading. I'm so intelligent!

Dog is God, I have suspected for a long time the institutions of religion know the error of some of their teachings but are too rooted in tradition to change. Or fear loosing credibility... and money. In my life I never thought I would bundle the WTS in with that suspicion but the evidence is was it is.

I have wiped the spit off my chin and blinked a few times.
